FDA Clears IMS CloudVue for Mobile 3D with Patented Cinematic Rendering

Giving IMS a First Mover Advantage – The Only 100% Cloud-Based FDA Cleared Cinematic Solution on the Market

TORONTOApril 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — International Medical Solutions (“IMS”), one of the first cloud-native technologies to enable the remote, seamless, and instant view of medical DICOM images in the cloud received FDA Class II Clearance for its mobile 3D cinematic solution. IMS is the only FDA cleared, photorealistic cinematic rendering provider on the market that is entirely cloud-based and does not require any on-prem back-end servers.

IMS CloudVue provides healthcare clinicians and researchers the ability to view and share medical imaging in a highly secure cloud environment – from anywhere they can access an internet connection using any device.

This is a 3D rendering of a patient’s stent. IMS is the only FDA cleared, photorealistic cinematic rendering provider on the market that is entirely cloud-based and does not require any on-prem back-end servers. The surgical team is using these images to determine the outcome of this patient’s procedure.

“IMS CloudVue cinematic rendering is the best 3D imaging that I’ve ever used in a PACS-based environment. The quality of the 3D images and the smooth maneuverability of the 3D images is truly impressive. I see opportunities to improve clinical outcomes using this approach to imaging intracranial aneurysms and to help plan complex craniofacial surgeries. The fact that such 3D views are also available on the iPad and iPhone is an additional convenience,” says Eric S. Bartlett, MPH MDAssistant Professor, University of Toronto, Neuroradiology, Head and Neck Division.

IMS’ architecture with Cinematic 3D provides a more cost-effective and efficient solution for organizations that often require massive back-end servers to achieve a comparable result. While other solutions require 4 CPU cores per user for 3D imaging, IMS only needs 1 CPU core to support up to 30 users to view high-quality cinematic image renderings with the same performance.

This data set was rendered on IMS CloudVue for Mobile 3D with Patented Cinematic Rendering. Both images are from the same data set and give the healthcare practitioner a 3D view and a 3D cinematic view of this patient’s skull. These images are part of the team’s pre-operative surgical planning, where physicians are looking for blood clots in the patient’s brain vessels.

“We believe that IMS is democratizing the market by providing a cost-effective solution for clinicians who wish to utilize mobile cinematic rendered images. By improving the realism of the images, it improves the perception of the anatomy by the clinician and enables more accurate diagnoses and better outcomes for patients,” says Vittorio Accomazzi, CTO of International Medical Solutions (IMS).

Using IMS’ FDA Cleared CloudVue viewer for Mobile 3D with patented cinematic rendering, this physician can use both views to determine the procedure’s efficacy. One can see the stent placement in both environments, mobile 3D and mobile 3D, with cinematic rendering. The surgical team is using these images to determine the outcome of this patient’s procedure.

Many medical procedures rely on imaging for diagnostics and treatment. CloudVue enables a clinician to access high-resolution images in the cloud on any device (desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet) with no cloud latency or application installs.  A market leader, IMS’ end-to-end solution provides business continuity and efficient health information exchange so clinicians can effectively review patient images and share their findings remotely.

“I am so impressed with the technological advancement that IMS CloudVue Cinematic has brought to the medical imaging community, especially when you consider that these images originate from the cloud and are rendered locally on your tablet or smartphone in real-time. The technology is equally impressive on a desktop. To think we used to need specialized computers, a 3D lab and expensive software . . . all a thing of the past now!” adds Dr. Bartlett.

IMS’ patented cinematic rendering will be included in the next release of IMS CloudVue.

International Medical Solutions Unveils Its New Solutions for Google Cloud Healthcare Customers Transitioning to the Cloud

TORONTONov. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — International Medical Solutions (“IMS”), a Google Cloud Partner, today announced a solution that will enable radiologists and other healthcare clinicians to transition to the cloud. The IMS CloudSync™ enables radiology sites to transition to the cloud and continue to use their legacy on-premise workstations and DICOM viewers. The front-end solution designed with the needs of first time Google Cloud Platform (GCP) users in mind uses an implementation that enables GCP to be added to an on-premise legacy viewing workflow, where GCP would act as the archive. The plug-and-play solution works out-of-the-box and allows PACS sites to sync their on-premise storage of medical images with their cloud storage. The added benefit is the sites can continue to use their legacy PACS workstations to view images stored in the cloud.

“IMS has been working closely with Google Cloud to solve unmet needs for customers who are starting to transition to the cloud. CloudSync™ is an out-of-the-box, cost-effective solution that improves clinician workflows while enabling them to use on-prem legacy systems at the same time,” says Vittorio Accomazzi, CTO of International Medical Solutions. Accomazzi adds, “Also, CloudSync™ inherently provides image sharing as it allows multiple sites to share and exchange images on GCP.”

IMS CloudVue™ will also be featured at RSNA this year. The solution, which launched earlier this year, is a cloud-based viewing platform that provides the experience of an installed application on any device or workstation. CloudSync™ and CloudVue™ can also be used as a disaster recovery solution since CloudSync™ will upload the on-premise data onto GCP, which can be accessed using CloudVue™. At any given time, the user has two copies of the data and at least two ways for accessing it.

Over the last year, IMS has worked closely with Google Cloud to enhance the integration with the Google Cloud Healthcare API, including integrating with machine learning backend. Both IMS CloudSync™ and IMS CloudVue™ solutions will be available for demonstration in the Google Cloud booth during the RSNA conference.

“In our experience, healthcare professionals want cost-effective, easy-to-implement solutions that will improve their workflow and provide an accurate diagnosis for their patients. We believe our partnership with Google Cloud and our ability to quickly develop products to support the market, will transform the way medical images are read, interpreted, and stored for many years to come,” adds Accomazzi.
