TORONTOFeb. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — International Medical Solutions (“IMS”), a Google Cloud Technology Partner, today announced a solution that will enable radiologists and other healthcare clinicians to use machine learning (“ML”) modeling to triage studies focusing on medical images that need immediate attention.  The platform will use a standard file format, enabling any AI company to add their own model to the workflow.

“IMS is proud to partner with organizations who want to make a positive difference in the healthcare industry. This prototype is the next logical step in our evolution to create scalable, medical imaging solutions that improve clinician workflows while quickly addressing the needs of patients,” says Vittorio Accomazzi, CTO of International Medical Solutions.

The prototype, which will be unveiled at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (“HIMSS”) conference in February, will feature two common use cases. The first scenario uses Google Cloud ML Engine to provide an indicator for prioritization. Using the example of a radiologist who has several hundred chest cases to review, the study list will leverage machine learning to provide an indicator of the cases that are most likely to have a pathology. This will enable the radiologist to focus on those cases quickly and expedite the results. The second scenario uses Google Cloud ML Engine to provide better decision support. In situations where there is no urgency involved with a diagnosis, such as determining breast density, machine learning modeling can be used for clinical decision support.

As a key partner to several healthcare organizations, including the American Society of Emergency Radiology (“ASER”) and the American College of Radiology (“ACR”), IMS is committed to ensuring exceptional care is being delivered to patients by offering cutting edge solutions that are cost effective, scalable, reliable and secure.

“In our experience, healthcare professionals are hyper-focused on using flexible solutions that give them the ability to improve their workflow, reduce costs and provide an accurate diagnosis for their patients. We believe our new platform using Google Cloud ML Engine will transform the way medical images are read and interpreted for many years to come,” adds Accomazzi.

IMS will be unveiling this new unrestricted prototype using Google Cloud ML Engine at the HIMSS Conference in Orlando.  Feel free to visit Google Cloud booth, Hall B, #2221 for more information.

TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — International Medical Solutions (“IMS”) and the American Society of Emergency Radiology (“ASER”) are pleased to announce the roll out of IMS Learn™ to all ASER members at its 30th Annual Meeting this September. The breakthrough FDA cleared technology, allows users to interactively present, teach and train using full resolution DICOM images with integrated PACS viewer-like functionality instantly, through a web browser, and on any device. ASER leadership believes IMS Learn™ will significantly enhance the participant experience in its Case of the Day competition.

“Rapid scoring and real-time leaderboard results will surely create a richer, more immersive experience for everyone. In previous meetings, participants handwrote their answers and ASER members manually graded their submissions. As you can imagine, the process was time consuming and participants had to wait for their results,” says Society President Dr. Stephen Ledbetter.  “This year, we anticipate much greater participation in the Case of the Day because cases will be instantly accessible to view via our members’ phones and tablets. The IMS Learn™ Dictionary question format helps us to present a free text answer format while still allowing for fully automated marking. And since we’re dealing with full-fidelity DICOM images, participants will feel like they are using a PACS workstation rather than screen captures to make their diagnosis,” adds Ledbetter.

Each year the ASER conference attracts hundreds of radiologists for educational lectures on the latest advances in emergency and trauma radiology, presentations of original scientific research, and updates on the most current imaging techniques. IMS Learn™ marks an evolution in the technology that has been traditionally available for training, teaching and presenting medical imaging. “We are thrilled to be the preferred solution at this conference and believe IMS Learn™ represents a paradigm shift in the way medical imaging is being delivered.  As we announced in April, other industry organizations like the American College of Radiology (“ACR”) have adopted our technology because it provides a rich, interactive viewing experience which can be easily accessed by hundreds of radiologists at the same time,” says IMS CTO, Vittorio Accomazzi.

Ledbetter adds, “ASER organizers wanted something innovative to advance the attendee experience during our 30th anniversary, and IMS Learn™ will provide the superior experience our membership and attendees desire.”

About ASER

Founded in 1988, the American Society of Emergency Radiology’s mission is to advance the quality of diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill or injured patients by means of medical imaging, and to enhance teaching and research in emergency radiology. The Society has grown considerably since its founding, now boasting nearly 1,000 members. Since 1995, the Society has published its journal, Emergency Radiology, in which peer-reviewed articles and educational materials are presented and discussed.

The ASER annual meeting should be of interest to clinical radiologists, both in the community and academic centers, who interpret imaging performed in emergency departments or settings. Subspecialists in emergency radiology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology, chest and abdominal radiology, radiology residents and fellows, and emergency physicians at all levels of training will find the educational and scientific material presented at the ASER meeting to be of the highest caliber.

TORONTO, April 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — International Medical Solutions (“IMS”) is pleased to announce the American College of Radiology (“ACR”) has added IMS’ Educational Toolkit to the ACR technology portfolio that supports medical imaging education.  IMS will provide an option to users of ACR Cortex that includes the ability to perform true DICOM viewing and engage in interactive, web-based assessments. The IMS toolkit will be utilized for projects that include resident training, CME, and other ACR educational programs throughout North America that involve a dynamic educational and assessment experience.

ACR believes the IMS Educational Toolkit represents an advancement in the manner in which their educational platform can access and present web-based images. “We found the IMS technology to be a good complement to the ACR CortexTM radiology learning platform.  Their flexible, cost-effective solution will allow us to provide a rich, interactive viewing experience to hundreds of learners simultaneously over the web,” says Mike Tilkin, CIO of ACR.

Since the IMS Educational Toolkit does not require software downloads, special apps, or server-side rendering, it allows educators to train radiologists in a more efficient and cost effective manner, under the same conditions they will see in their practices. “We believe our patented, FDA registered viewer combined with our Educational Toolkit, represents a material breakthrough in the way medical imaging education is being delivered. Now organizations like ACR can reduce costs while simultaneously reaching exponentially more trainees using actual DICOM images, providing a more realistic experience,” says IMS CTO, Vittorio Accomazzi.

Tilkin adds, “We believe a high-fidelity learning experience that simulates how radiology is practiced is an essential component of the ongoing learning process and will ultimately contribute to better patient care.”
